In Uniforms and Traditions we look for the study, the knowledge and the spreading, in the scope of “History of the material culture", of one of the greatest conflicts than the humanity has known. We are centered in the knowledge of the experiences of its protagonists, the combatants, and we want to show the objects of habitual use by them, as well as the uniforms and traditions of the armies that took part in the warlike events.

The acquisition of clothes was the responsibility of the Wehrmachtbeschaffungsamt für Bekleidund und Ausrüstung, the Armed Forces Acquisition Clothes and Equipment Office. The storage and later distribution of articles depended of the Heeresverwaltungs-amt, the Army Administrative Subjects Office, which made it through the branches that had in every Regions or Military Districts. read more The cap could be the most representative item of German army during Second World War. Besides of the Heeres-Kleiderkasse, the Army Clothing Office, officers and NCOs could acquire their uniforms in particular taylor shops. Although the enlisted men were completely equipped by their units through the Heeres-Bekleidungsämter (HBA), the regulations authorized them to acquire most of the garments of their walking-out uniform in the same stores than the officers. read more The Grossdeutschland Division is possibly the most widely recognized unit of the German army unit during World War II. The "Deutsches Rotes Kreuz" (DRK) was a non combatant organization that participated in ww2. We consider they role was very important during the second World War. Instituted in 1864 by Dr. Aaron Silverman of the Charité hospital of Berlin, the German Red Cross was a voluntary civil assistance organization that was officially acknowledged by the Geneva Convention in 1929. Is coming E. Reitz of Antwerpen was one of most important uniform factory out of Germany during second world war. They made uniforms for Luftwaffe, Heer, SS and Kriegsmarine. E. Reitz Uniformwerke was established in the summer of 1940 in the former buildings of the British American Tobacco Company in Merksem.
